Create your own backups

  • Create backups of your database on your own. Go to Tools > Admin Tools > Database Backup

Use the Currency Converter

  • Convert any 2 currencies in the world. Within the invoice, click the Currency Conversion icon, select the currencies, click Add then click Convert. ShowGo will go to the web and get the most current rate and convert your invoiced amount.

Link with Outlook

  • Create an Outlook appointment with all of your event details, and send them to all attending personnel. Open an event, go to the Scheduling module, click Create Appointment and ShowGo will do the rest.

PAPERLESS OFFICE

We're all going green at the office and in the home and that begins by going paperless.

Digital documents, just like paper, have to be stored somewhere. The paper files have to turn into some sort of digital file via scanner and ultimately they have to be stored. But you must also consider if you want the text searchable, do you require them to be on a shared network server, do they need to be edited or read only? How do you want to file them? What kind of reporting features do you require?

Most documents, once scanned, will be saved as either a PDF or tiff file. If you wish to search the documents you can use optical character recognition (OCR). You can then search for any word or phrase that you're looking for in the document.

Overtime, the files will out grow your hard drive so at the very least , buy an external drive to ensure that you have enough space to hold your documents.

If you choose to host the files yourself,

  • Make sure you have enough disk space. Hard drives are getting cheaper and cheaper.

  • Back up your files on a regular basis - hard drives can and do fail.

  • Back up your files onto a separate device; flash drive, CD or another computer or drive.

  • For Mac users, Time Machine regularly back-ups your system on to an external device like a dream. Just set it and you're done.
